New Way now offers fully integrated precision rotary stages featuring all the benefits of our Porous Media Technology™. New Way Servo-Driven Rotary Stages provide a one-stop solution for precision by integrating the following components:

  • Air Spindles
    • By distributing air through porous carbon, air spindles create an even, yet stiff, layer of air, delivering non-contact motion and eliminating wear while also providing superior precision at both low and high speeds.
    • Air spindles not only utilize minimal amounts of air compared to competing designs, but the even distribution inherent to porous media eliminates pressure gradients and the damaging crashes they can induce.
  • Slotless, brushless motor
    • The zero cog motor design enables smooth velocity control and minimal vibration suitable for both low- and high-speed applications.
    • Single-axis servo drives are standard; multi-axis can be accommodated via a custom order.
  • Rotary Encoder
    • Servo-Driven Rotary Stages are offered with a standard or high-resolution encoder, capable of achieving resolutions up to 1.10 arcsec.
  • Optional items include controllers and cables for power and communication
