New Way introduces patent pending Air Bearing Seals, using the company's proprietary porous carbon technology to create a thin film of high pressure air directly between the faces of the seals. This provides all the benefits of dry gas seals and mechanical seals in one simple, non-contact, leak-free solution that eliminates friction, heat, coking, and wear.

New Way introduces Tilting Pad Air Bearings, which enable oil-free turbo equipment or compressor operation. These externally pressurized air bearings, which are designed to cooperate with hydrodynamic effects, employ the same mounts as current hydrodynamic oil-based bearings (not compliant foils or flexures), so high stiffness and damping can be maintained with an easy path to retrofit.

New Way introduces porous media ‘Air Turns,’ a concept designed to replace contact rollers for the non-contact handling of flexible films. Concurrently, the company has also introduced modified radial air bearings which can be used in conjunction with these Air Turns to create a viscous shear for web tension control, cleaning, drying, and rapid temperature control.
