New Way® Air Bearings announced that it has acquired ownership United States Patent #6781684, titled ‘Workpiece Levitation Using Alternating Positive and Negative Pressure Flows.' This patent was originally filed by Donald Ekhoff on November 7, 2000, and complements New Way's own innovation in the field.
New Way  founder, chairman, and CTO Drew Devitt will present at the AIMCAL Europe Conferences, in Prague, Czech Republic.

New Way® Air Bearings announced that it would host ‘Air Bearings 101' - a webcast for collegiate mechanical engineering students - on Tuesday, Sept. 27, 2011. The webcast will cover air bearings and the fundamentals of frictionless motion, and was created specifically for an academic audience, although content is appropriate for anyone new to air bearings.

New Way® Air Bearings announced that it has been issued United States Patent No. 7,908,885-B2 for its ‘Non-Contact Porous Air Bearing and Glass Flattening Device.' This new technology resolves the issue of inherent glass thickness variations by presenting the flattest possible glass surface to the process during Flat Panel Display manufacturing.
The DVIRC announced the addition of New Way president Nick Hackett to its Board.

According to United Registrar Services, LLC, an independent auditing firm, New Way® Air Bearings has achieved certification in accordance with the new ISO 9001:2008 standards, meeting guidelines set out by the International Organization for Standardization. New Way was originally certified (for ISO 9001:2000) in late November of 2008.
